Elaborate décor and a fine dining experience. Dubai isn’t shy of extraordinary restaurants – but even by The Golden City’s sky-high standards, Ronin Dubai is exceptionally impressive.
Located at Five Luxe JBR hotel, under the guidance of award-winning Chef Sin Keun Choi, Ronin Dubai promises a refined and personalised journey through artfully inspired Japanese cuisine, in an elegant-yet-upbeat setting.
Radiating opulence with a cool and contemporary approach, the aesthetics here are a design aficionados dream come true. Hundreds of red lanterns adorn the ceiling, casting a warm glow, while striking hand-painted murals glint across the walls. The experts behind the ambiance have struck gold with the mood lighting’s romantic disposition, carefully curated for intimate gatherings. The soft illuminations also allow the glorious view from the restaurant’s expansive terrace to shine. Arriving at sunset reveals the magnificent transformation of the sky, as vibrant hues of orange and pink unfold with the sun’s descent into the Arabian Gulf.
For those that appreciate a side of theatrics with their ise-ebi giant prawns, the sushi bar adjacent to the restaurant’s open kitchen offers a front-row seat to the culinary magic. For a more intimate dining experience, opt for one of the elevated pergolas where you and your dinner date will dine in your own little bubble.

Paying homage to culinary creativity, standout dishes include the BBQ yuzo miso black cod and the A5 saroma Wagyu sirloin. Plant-based palettes are well catered for with personal favourites, the yasai maki rolls, yaki tofu skewers and kimchi fried rice hitting all the right spots. As for sushi and sashimi, vibrant smorgasbords of sea urchin, salmon roe and yellow tail tuna were spotted doing the rounds. There’s also a brilliant selection of vegan negiri. If you’re unsure on what to order, the knowledgeable staff will gleefully guide you through the gauntlet of options.

Complementing the gastronomic journey, the signature cocktails elevate the dining experience with cleverly crafted concoctions reflecting the restaurant’s very essence. The Yamato Dynasty, a blend of rum, sherry, almond and coconut cordial, wasabi, and roasted pineapple, along with The Shogun, featuring cocoa bourbon, clear mandarin, tonka, and Malbec, offer a symphony of flavour that guarantees to delight.
Ronin Dubai’s majestic character truly shines, establishing itself as one of the UAE’s top hotspots. Its brand-new Saturday brunch is top of the list for the city’s it-crowd.
