Cinque is a culinary gem that promises an extraordinary Italian dining experience. As I stepped into the restaurant an air of elegance breezed across me, accompanied by the harmonious strains of soft music that later transformed into the melodious tunes of a live singer.
The first aspect that strikes one upon entering Cinque is its bold decor. Swapping traditional Italian aesthetics for an artful blend of modern sophistication, a midnight-blue palette envelops the space, complimented by gilded accents and a delicate interplay of warm lighting that perfectly enhances the contemporary hand-painted murals that glisten on the walls. Every detail, from the delicate glassware to the distinctive tableware, is a testament to the award-winning restaurant’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

Once comfortably seated, I was greeted by an attentive staff member whose demeanour exuded charm, striking an impeccable balance of warmth and expertise. As I perused the menu, I appreciated the insights of the knowledgeable sommelier, who enthusiastically presented a selection of wines to complement the meal, ensuring that each choice was not only perfect but also a delightful discovery of the restaurant’s meticulously curated wine cellar.
The first course, the exquisite Carpaccio Di Fassona, arrived as a veritable work of art. Piedmont fassona beef, paired with cured organic egg yolk, wild rocket pesto, toasted almonds, smoked oil and freshly shaved truffle, established a formidable standard for the courses that were to follow.

Next came the risotto, which was executed to perfection and accompanied by Sicilian red prawns. The dish’s rich, creamy texture was enhanced by a delicate lemon foam, elevating it to a realm of sheer indulgence. The chef’s expertise was evident, as each grain of rice retained its individual character whilst being swathed in a harmonious blend of flavours.
The pièce de résistance, however, was the slow-cooked black cod. Served alongside a celeriac sauce, porcini mushrooms and dashes of tomato jelly, this dish was a magnificent creation that lingers in my dreams. The vibrant colours, alluring aromas and varied textures coalesced seamlessly to craft a feast for not only the palate but for all the senses. Each dish, including the impressive array of plant-based creations chosen by my fellow diners, was equally divine.
Throughout the evening, the service remained attentive yet unobtrusive, a true reflection of the staff’s dedication to enhancing guest experience. The ambiance within Cinque vibrated with life whilst retaining an intimate quality, rendering it an ideal setting for both romantic dinners and celebratory gatherings.

As the evening drew to a close, we moved to a table outside on the terrace by FIVE Palm Jumeirah’s Instagram-famous swimming pool, where I indulged in a classic tiramisu, which arrived decadently layered with coffee-soaked biscuits and mascarpone mousse. It proved to be a delicious conclusion to a remarkable meal, allowing me to savour every sweet nuance of Italian tradition.
With its impeccable cuisine, outstanding service and a lively yet sophisticated atmosphere, Cinque stands as a destination that calls to the discerning gourmand. I departed with a full heart and a firm promise to return, eager to once again embrace the intoxicating allure of contemporary Italian cuisine at its finest.
