Astutely reinventing the world of luxury through a fresh approach where creation is led by emotions, luxury European brand, Byredo’s ethos is to translate memories and emotions into products and experiences. It’s latest lipstick launch is perfect for special moments.
“It feels completely contemporary, it is an experience of now in the glide. It makes for the compulsive, sensual experience of putting it on. You want to do it repeatedly it feels that good. And it stays on – you can trust it. You can trust its quality.” Creative Image and Makeup Partner Lucia Pica shares.
In this latest launch from Byredo Makeup, sophistication of colour, ingredients and experience are amplified: subtlety and boldness work hand in hand; tonalities are explored within single colours; the ritual of application is enjoyably augmented; while the act of wearing and keeping is enriched by sustainability through refillability.

Twenty shades are presented: ten in a satin formulation and ten matte. At once compelling and comfortable, the latest sensorial qualities of both give a sumptuous feel in the application of each. The ultra-glide shine of the Satin provides a veil of silk for the skin, enriched with Rose Flower Extract. With radiance and vibrant colour in one stroke, the long-lasting, contemporary formula is buildable for more intense brilliance if desired. The Matte provides a sophisticated sensuality with a malleable yet velvety finish; it too is aided by Rose Flower Extract, conditioning and protecting the skin. The modern matte formulation provides an evenness of pigmentation in a single stroke with a luminous vitality, long-wearing yet always effortlessly and comfortably worn.
Colours are refined, offering a multifaceted range of tonalities subtle yet recognisable, wearable yet bold, providing a comfortable expansion of self for the wearer. A voluptuous ‘roundness’ informs the approach to colour, like a scent with a layered sensibility of notes. The passage of time and the wearer’s moods are played upon: from the fleshy reality of 9AM to the opulent red of Fire & Rain in the satins; from the deep nude of Septembre to the sumptuous plum of Ombra in the mattes. The choice is ultimately about how the wearer wants to amplify themself.

“The lipsticks are an evolution. They are an essential part of the evolving language of makeup at Byredo. The textures and the formulations, like the subtle undertones, are part of a new handwriting. The notion of the imprint and how that relates to memory is part of the bridge that is being built between the makeup and the perfumes. From the beginning, I said I wanted the makeup to be a visible medium of emotions just as the scents are an invisible medium of them – the lipsticks are vital to that.” Pica shares.
